Product specificity
The world's best-selling resin ribbon for Flat Head printers. An industry standard since its launch in 1992. Particularly renowned for its ease of use and high levels of performance.
Application
VESTEL'DE AXR7+
The third largest European TV manufacturer uses inkanto AXR®7+ resin to identify the components of the 16 million television sets it manufactures each year.
VESTEL manufactures numerous electronic and household appliances for the main European and global brands.
VESTEL carries out the labelling of TVs, their internal components and the final packaging using inkanto’s AXR®7+ Thermal Transfer resin ribbon and an adhesive label of semi-gloss paper.
Supplied by its Turkish partner SETAG, AXR®7+ enables VESTEL to print on paper labels with an excellent print quality, but it also offers a durability of printed information throughout the life cycle of the TV sets.
AXR®7+ ink is resistant to friction, scratching and heat: it ensures good readability and traceability of information during manufacture and any repairs that are performed, right up to component sorting when recycling old TV sets.
AXR 7+ FOR MEDICAL POUCH IDENTIFICATION
A very high level of print quality and resistance is required for such sensitive data
The AXR®7+ Thermal Transfer film meets a dual print requirement for this global market leader in the healthcare sector: the labelling of medical pouches containing glucose and the identification of packing boxes.
A number of difficulties associated with the manufacturing and packing process run the risk of the printed information becoming erased. The producer's requirements are as follows:
- A single ribbon to print two different labels: a synthetic label on the medical pouch and a coated paper label on the packaging.
- A printing solution able to provide abrasion resistance due to the pouches rubbing against each other on the production belt, and which guarantees perfect legibility of the box label right up to delivery.
- Good adhesion of the ink to the label without the ink becoming transferred to another pouch when they are piled up on the production belt.
- High heat resistance in a humid environment.
- Compliance with international regulations including those associated with food contact applications.
Tests performed in real-life conditions demonstrated that the inkanto AXR®7+ Resin ink meets all of these requirements.
ARMOR is also able to provide support to health industry companies with their Drug Master File (DMF) submissions to the FDA.
IDENTIFICATION OF HEATERS
This Irish manufacturer of household appliances, notably mobile heaters, selected the inkanto AXR®7+ Thermal Transfer ribbon as it perfectly adapted for printing on appliance identification plates.
The selection criteria for this super-premium resin ink for Flat Head printers were the print quality and resistance, which are both perfectly adapted for heater operating conditions. Identification data such as the serial number are printed in high resolution (up to 600 dpi) on synthetic labels and subsequently affixed to the metal surface of radiators which, by definition, reach high temperatures.
The AXR®7+ offers durable print resistance: from demanding production phases (use of solvents) and throughout the product life cycle (abrasion, dust, scratches, UV and heat).
For this application the AXR®7+ is used in combination with a 50 micron white polyester label and ZEBRA Z6M and DATAMAX H Class printers.
AXR7+ GOOD RESISTANCE TO HEAT FOR THE MARKING OF METAL PARTS
Convinced by the decision to select a print solution via Thermal Transfer, as much for technological as for purchase cost reasons, a metalworking company selected inkanto AXR®7+ for marking identification data on the packaging for metal parts.
Once labelled the package is covered by a thermo-retracted plastic film. This packing process using the effect of heat can cause the label ink to be transferred onto the packing film and therefore compromise the legibility of the label. The good heat resistance of the Resin ink of the AXR®7+ ribbon is ideally suited to this type of application.
Alongside the performance of the AXR®7+, the user and the ARMOR technical teams worked together to analyse the problem and find the most appropriate solution.
DURABLE MARKING AT GKN DRIVELINE
GKN is a global leader supplier to the automotive, aerospace and off Highway manufacturers. In Brazil, GKN Driveline is specialized in the manufacturing of sideshafts: a system that transfers power from a differential to the wheels allowing wheel movement due to steering or suspension movement.
GKN Driveline supports all the major automotive assembly plants, with the majority of the vehicles produced in Brazil equipped with GKN Driveline sideshaft.
During sideshafts production phases, each part needs to be labeled for tracking and identification purposes with the difficulty to remain legible despite the rough conditions caused by the handling, processing, tooling, quality controls and contacts with metallic parts.
Once manufactured, GKN sideshafts shall also remain labeled through their entire lifecycle to ensure good maintenance, replacement and recycling.
Durability and readability being the key elements of this application, ARMOR long term Brazilian partner Automatech offers AXR 7+ in order to match GKN’s demanding constraints and great printing performance on the filmic labels.
AXR®7+ offers a good compromise in term of capability to print on different receptors (coated and glossy papers, synthetics) with a good sensitivity and overall high level of resistances to demanding conditions.
When even more resistances are required, especially to solvents, AXR®8 is the alternative.
GHS LABELING AT FKA PERFUME MAKER
FKA, a Korean fragrance manufacturer, has chosen inkanto TT ribbons for printing highly sensitive information on the handling and usage of its products, thus complying with the international GHS system.
FKA was established in 1976 through a joint venture with France SICALAV de Haute Provence to develop fragrances and flavors to address Korean industries like cosmetics, toiletries, fabric care, confectionery, beverage and tobacco...
Fragrances are sold under liquid state in plastic containers which require clear product description and safety warnings. Some of FKA’s products are flammable liquid or can cause skin and eye irritation therefore they require to display an adequate GHS labeling.
A GHS designed label ensures a proper communication on the potential hazard of certain products with internationally harmonized text and symbols; these latest are made from a thin red diamond and a central black pictogram.
FKA’s long term partner Bigeyes Information System (BIS) has offered a complete solution to comply with GHS using a CAB XC6 two-color printer with inkanto AXR®7+ black and AXR®600R red ribbons, printing on a Yupo synthetic material.
The printed GHS messages and symbols must remain legible until the container is recycled to maintain a high level of security for anybody that would handle it.
inkanto AXR®7+ and AXR®600R offer an excellent level of resistances to all the constraints that such container can suffer during its life cycle: smudge, scratch, UV light, contact with solvents, etc.
